Kate Martin

Kate Martin (B.P.S.A, Dip. Perf. Arts) brings over 20 years of experience to the studio, with a career spanning professional performance, teaching, choreography, adjudication, and studio ownership. A graduate of Te Auaha and UNITEC, Kate owned and directed the Kate Martin School of Dance (now known as Levin the Movement) for a decade, mentoring students of all ages across a wide range of genres including Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Modern Jazz, Hip Hop, Acro Dance, and Lyrical.

As a qualified teacher, previous Examiner for the IDTA, and certified Acrobatic Arts instructor, Kate brings a refined technical eye and a supportive, encouraging approach to every class. After selling her studio in 2023 and spending time living in France, she is thrilled to be back home in Aotearoa.

Kate currently balances family life with her three teenage sons, her postgraduate studies in teaching, freelance relief teaching at studios, and adjudicating around the country. Having previously taught for Red Star Dance from 2016 to 2018, she is delighted to be back helping out with teaching at Team Red.
